The First SEEDI Conference SEEDI The SEEDI is an effort to develop awareness about digitization of cultural and scientific heritage in the South-Eastern European countries and to bring together researchers having similar scientific and practical interest in digitization and to support cooperation between them. CONFERENCE TOPICS and WORKSHOPS There will be 4 Conference topics:
Each topic will have one invited speaker (45 mins) and some ordinary speakers (up to 30 mins). Each topic will have a program person. So far, it is accepted that the program person for the DANCE-section is:
On the day before the conference there will be optional workshops in each theme. The person who will organize the workshop on Edutaiment is
CONFERENCE DATE It is planed that Conference will be organized during the last week of August or the first week of September 2005. To allow for "cheap" air flights etc., participants should arrive on Saturday, while the departure should be on Thursday. So, Conference will last 5 (hotel) days. VENUE It is planed that Conference will take place in Ohrid, Macedonia. ORGANIZING COMMITTEE Currently the OC consists of:
PROGRAM The Conference will have plenary sessions, invited lectures, round tables and cultural and social events. The workshops will take place on Sunday, the Conference on Monday and Tuesday, the Conference dinner will be on Tuesday, while on Wednesday there will be extended cultural and social events. Every working day will consist of two sessions: Morning (10-13) and Afternoon (16-19) with coffee/tea/water/rakia breaks. CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS Presented papers, selected after a review by the international editorial board, will be published in the Review of the National Center for Digitization, Serbia and Montenegro. FUNDING Anyone who gets some practical ideas on this topic is welcome. FURTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS Further announcements will be sent to the SEEDI-mailing list.
